Liz wrote the book and lyrics for the award-winning musical One Good Day (with music by A Strange Loop's grammy-winning Rona Siddiqui), which she directed at the Kennedy Center, the Manhattan Theatre Club and the ASCAP/DreamWorks Workshop with Stephen Schwartz in Los Angeles. The show was named Best New Musical by the Festival of New American Musicals and is the winner of the ASCAP Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart Award. Before her time at the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Writing Program, Liz worked as a teacher, wrote columns about it for The Dallas Morning News and wrote a musical about it called Real Hard Math (music by Josh Jung), which she directed for the PBS TV Series Musicals in the Making and at The Kennedy Center.
